6 month old will NOT nap!?

My son sleeps perfect at night! But when it comes to napping he won't do it. I feed and it seems the only way he will nap is when I nurse him to sleep and hold him while he naps. This CANNOT become a routine for me. He will not take a pacifier...any suggestions or moms in a similar situation? Right now he is nursing to sleep or crying himself to sleep. I have tried soft music, reading a book, lowering lights, etc.
