Traveling to Pennsylvania (Pittsburgh area) and need a nice, safe place to stay?

My 12 year old son and I will be traveling to Hershey and need a place to stay in Pittsburgh for the night that will be safe and yet affordable. We will be arriving late in the evening and I need a place to feel secure . Can anyone tell me what the best place is to stay?
